Instant Composition – Tanzimprovisation

Instant Composition is the creative process of composing at the moment using improvisation skills and awareness of what you are creating in relation to the body, shape, time, and space.

By composing at the moment, we generate choreographies that arise from our perceptions, experiences, intuitions, and imaginations. Each movement is conceived in the exact moment it occurs, making it immediate and tangible. Choreography and interpretation blend into continuously unfolding processes. During these classes, we will use Instant Composition as a way to explore various interactive potentials. This practice will allow us to investigate our capacity to surprise ourselves and each other, while also supporting the poetry of the body within a performative context.
